As for the soaking part, if you were to use either saline or distilled water mixed with an antibiotic/microbial like betadine or chlorohexadine, and follow it with the neosporin, then you will do less damage and less chance for an infection rather than using tap water.
Also the tub by itself is good, but don't forget to heat it with a pad from underneath, otherwise its imunno system may not help fight off infection either.
As for drinking, pedialyte mix. A burn is EXTREMLY dehydrating on a body, and it needs all it can get right now. Just use a bowl too small for it to get into and a non tipping type like a dog food bowl with the extended rim.
__Just a tid-bit of info, when one gets a burn like this, where skin is off and meat is exposed, the odds of death due to dehydration is much higher than any thing else except infections. Pain does not kill, in a burn patient....
