You could also use a "California Aircondition". On the hottest days, get a standard oscilating fan and put a bag of ice right behind it. It will draw the air past the ice and blow air that is approximately 5-10 degrees cooler than the ambiant air temp. The down side is you end up going through a bag of ice every day, but if the condition is only for a few weeks, this may be a good way to keep both you and the herps cool.
