I see lots of posts about the conditions at some (most) pet stores. I did a little quick searching to read up on pet store laws to see what kind of standards they are held to. I'm sure most of you have seen this already, but I haven't seen the URL posted yet so figured I'd throw it on here:

Some states have no pet store laws, some have laws but define "pets" as being cats and dogs only, some have very vague laws that merely require "adequate care" or "humane conditions", and others are much more specific.

So, anyway, if you've filed a complaint about your local pet store and nothing was done, it may because nothing can be legally done by the authorities.
