Heating advice

I tried to search for this info, but couldn't really find what I was looking for so if this is a repeat, please forgive..

The RTB enclosures that we currently have are heated by ceramic emitters and red heat lamps..I am happy with how they are working but my SO would like the newest cage to be heated with a UTH. The tank is a 55 gallon aquarium, that will house our newest snake until I can afford to buy a custom enclosure. The new snake is a rescued suriname female about 5' long.

Here are my questions:

What size UTH is best
We currently use coconut bark for substrate, will it work ok with the UTH
Do I need to worry about her burning herself on the glass

any other tidbits of advice are appreciated.
