BT=Bacillus thuringiensis not so much a poison as it's a living thing....
I don't think it's the result of genetic engineering in the plants..It is poison controls. Someone knew they used a certain pesticide on the crop which made not US food grade or it wouldn't have been in the petfood to begin with.....
I'm not sure that I am comfortable with home made diets for dogs either. Sure some of them may have not eaten poisoned food because of it but I wonder what the long term effects and deficiencies can end up being?
There has not been a study for standards by the government for a long time. AAFCO pretty much means nothing...it's been 20 years+ since it was reviewed and some of the study was left out of the standards. For 18$ somewhere on the net you can the original study and guidelines.
Anything then based on AAFCO standards is out of date too. One would reason raw diets and supplements are based on these standards...
Anyhow, there is no conspiracy to poison peoples pets.
I was really worried when I went to work (I've not been on the internet much lately) and my coworker asked if I heard about the huge pet food recall...
