septicimia = blood poisoning...infection gets in the blood stream and attacks vital organs. I'm sure he is on a healthy dose of IV antibiotic...probably cipro.
Peritonitis is Inflammation of the peritoneum...the sac that lines the abdominal cavity.
Lori...Hang in there. This kinda thing is never easy to deal with but it's all part of life. We have to confort the sick as well as the other family members that are distraught and stressed...I know you are one of those too...ya just gotta do what ya can to comfort each other.
