Well, a lot of literature that says they are for "experts" mainly deals with the wild caught animals.
Captive born/bred animals are much easier to care for once they are several months old.
You still need to know what your are doing, but "expert" is up to interpretation,
iv'e been working with snakes for 15+ years, and still would hesitate to call myself anything more than a committed hobbyist. (hehe)
As long as you have the correct setup, maintain their humidity, dont stress them too much, and dont overfeed, you would probably be in good shape.
Captive born animals are a little bit more than imports, but I would avoid any imported or wc animals unless you are totally prepared to deal with any issues that may arise.
