Taking it that ya mean the cagesbydesign ones here actually. I have one of them and never anymore is right..lol.
As fopr using a sealant.. that wouldn't apply here at all. The plexi is within a frame and that frame is placed into the framework of the cage inside a runner type thing of wood. It is the first frame that pops out all the time from the runner thing. SO if ya place a sealer to hold it in,, ya wouldn't be able to open/close the cage is all then.
Also a few moths back when my 8 1/2'er ANDY was getting outta the cage like daily it was the whole back piece of wood that she was leaning on and would pop outta the framing..UGH. We discovered that when we moved the cage around to another room.
We have braced all the wood and doors on this cage now so that the snakes can't get out.. I hope. They haven't since the last bracing was done.. soo...
The cage also has pegboard for the whole top piece..not conducive to withholding humidity at all. I have had to move snakes outta that cage if they went into bad sheds due to this even.
The lighting I have in mine is the two reflector domnes..one at each end .. and there are no coverings on them. Needless to say.. I now have only one light fixture in there for a heating bulb and I shut that off even at times due to the snakes liking to go right up against it sometimes and also that they just love to wrap around the dang thing. With them being LARGE snakes.. I don't want them pulling the dang thing down with their weight is all and hurting themselves. UGH.
The wood is not sealed to prevent anything either. I should prolly have my husband seal it though anyways. BUT ya would think that a cage as expensive as this one is would have been done by the maker even.
Also the small pieces of wood that are your "handle" to open/ close the cage..are basically just glued on is all. Gotta love when ya go to open the cage and it comes off in your hand is all..and the cage is not opened either..arghh.
Also don't plan on keeping anything on top of the cage at all either. The connection that holds the light in place sticks up above on top of the cage and ya can't put anything on top of it at all.. Like maybe another cage ?? BUT then again.. the material is soo flimsy and non supportive that it would not be a good idea to place another cage on top of it at all either.
I have the 6 long x 2[?] high x 2or 3 wide one. Don't know the model # .
Needless to say.. i am def
NOT thrilled with the dang thing at all !
Here's a couple pics of it.. I'll grab more tomm of it for ya full view np.
