I had a cat that randomly attacked people. He was an 18 pounder that drew blood. Not scratches - lacerations. A friend took the cat after I had kids, and the cat made the 75 pound lab hide under the bed. I asked the vet what to do, and the vet said, "It is irresponsible to pass this dangerous animal on to another household, sinse you know it attacks without provocation. As much as I hate to say it, you should put him down." With tears, that's what we did. I loved old Sam, but not enough to let him hurt people.
PS - I can't wait to see Chance's new enclosure.
