heather, their not that hard to care for feed about 2-3 times a week on crickets or roaches, make sure you keep the tank semi-humid, use good peat soil or vermiculite with no chemicals in it for substrate, they also molt like spiders too, to tell the difference in sex, the females will have feathery looking feelers on their bellys kinda, ahhhhh i can't remember what their called, also make sure you give her/him some good hiding places some will burow and make tunnels kinda, also i would'nt suggest using a sponge in the water dish unless you always make sure its clean(i usualy use flat marbles), otherwise crickets can lay eggs in the sponge or fungus can grow on it, well thats all for now, goood luck with your new emp their pretty cool, have you tried picking it up yet?----Jeff
