i decided to investigate all the possible heat sources for my new cages that will be built in a couple months.I came to realize that the flexwatt was not the source of heat i wanted to use.My cages will be stacked so i cant use lights either.I then checked out pro-products heat panels.I decided that would be the best solution as they emit plenty of heat down to easily heat my 5.5' by almost 3 foot wide cage thats 20inches tall.I called and they recommended me a panel size and price.I will also be using a kane heat mat on the bottom for belly heat and to creat a warm spot.Pricey? yes ,it cost more for the heat panel and kane mat compared to flexwatt, but in the end if you plan on keeping your snakes for a long time, you will slowly get your money back in electric bills.I just didnt like the idea of puting flexwatt permanently between two panels and siliconing it to make it waterproof, what do you to if it needs to be fixed or replaced etc.
