The wording and bad use of English is a sure sign along with wanting to send 10 times the amount with the caveat of sending the overage back. Another is asking if they can use a credit card, which is stolen (or they have the card information).
Earlier this week I got an e-mail through our on-line filter supply (breathing gas) site asking if we accept credit cards. That was my first clue as the site specifies that we do. The next clue was the bad English, the "company" being based in the UK. The third was "their client" was in Lagos, Nigeria.
In my reply, I pointed out that they could place their order on-line using a credit card, filling out the information required at checkout. I also told them that the site is secure and they wouldn't have to worry about SCAMMERS getting hold of their CC info and then trying to DEFRAUD other businesses at his expense. Never heard from him again and no order. Imagine that!
