Wanted to know if there is any way to help the bird that has molted but still has the sheaths on his head feathers? Is there anything one can do to get him through this stage or should nature take care of it?
I thought I had read somewhere that you can gently roll the sheath in your fingertips to help, but I cannot find that website where I THINK I read that.
Also, tried the towel trick last night on the conure to see if it would help him bond with me but he didn't really fight it. He bit it a few times, and just let me baby talk and coo to him, petted his head, beak, cheeks with no problem. Later, he also let me put him on his back while resting in the palm of my hand and allowed me to pet his head, belly, beak, checks and he was so far into the ectasy of it all his eyes were closing and he was doing those cute little beak clicks!
So, on a good note, I think we are bonding. Now comes the training.
