Lori.. my suggestion is this; Get your lawyer over to your house tommorrow before they enter. Make sure he is present. Even though this might not be cheap, it may be what keeps your children and/or reptiles at home with you. As much as I hate saying this, they CAN take your children if they think its unsafe.. reguardless of how safe you keep the snakes. Also I would consider getting rid of any pictures of your children holding the larger snakes, and goto home depot in the morning and installing a dead bolt on the room where the reptiles are kept.
If you hand them matches, they will light your fire. I've seen children taken from homes because the parents didnt pickup dog droppings right away. So, 10+ snakes, some being huge.. couldnt definatly be trouble.
Remember, owning snakes like boids/hots is not much different than keeping a loaded gun in your house.. it might be safe, but it is still DEADLY if handled wrong. I noticed your children are still young.. I'm not going to preach safety to you as I'm sure your snakes are setup safer than mine.. but you do realize if one of those larger boids WERE to get strapped onto a kids neck he wouldnt have a chance in #$%^$%^$%^$%^& fighting it off.. as some grown men cant even do. I'm just saying this because I'm sure social services will also.
Once again, its not cheap.. but its better than losing your chilren or reptiles. I wish you the best of luck, Lori.. and I hope everything works out for the best. If they do threaten to take your children if you dont get rid of the snakes.. I'll be glad to take a couple off your hands and return them when everything is straightened out or find some experienced friends to help out as well. I know your kids are more important than your reptiles..so I'll be glad to help.
