Beautiful example of the rare and shiny sub species (Haliaeetus leuchromedomeocephalus).
In the wild these birds normally wear their eagle eyes contacts and as seen here, has been fitted for glasses due to too many dorm window crashes.
This IS typical behavior for the male of this species due to unnaturally pink skin left after premature feather loss.
The wild population is declining thanks to acid rain, beer parties and missed signals from the females of the kind.
The bird sanctuary is now in need of donations, mainly tiny bottles of spf 2000 sunblock, for this bird and the remaining few left in the wild.
You too can help out by trekking into the woods and dropping small bottles of wine, sunblock and ham sandwiches under every other pine tree.
