Ive also heard the odd tale of the tame Tokay Gecko, so no doubt exceptions take place.. Although if you spend that much time with your Nile, I bet he would get to know you pretty good, and vice versa.. Definatly the more time you spend the better, but if I took my "average" Nile to the park... first he'd disappear in a blaze...then poodles would start disappearing...and most likely small children after that...
