I did try to post this the otherday on here from dial up while on the road..to no avail..so here it is now...

OK..I received some input on this thread that it was getting out of hand here. Soo I came and looked through it. For the person that directed me here....I tried to get you but you had left once I was through last nite. Now for what was said in regards to this thread to me....

This thread is a "debate" that is ongoing. There will be multiple "opinoins" stated in it of course, as everyone has their own views on such a "hot" issue. I fail to see any type of personal "attack" like you stated to me. However I did see what you were refering to. That was not personal, it was a well used generalized statement that I have heard many a time in my lifetime and would probably continue to hear the remainder of my life also. When such a debate is going on, what is said really needs to be taken in context and not as a personal attack. IF someone can not take such into account , then possibly they should not participate in the "debate", clear and simple. I'm not telling you to not post here in this thread, but ya really need to take it in stride basically should you continue to do so.
On the other issue you pointed out here....I only found one that was out of line and have edited such....We censor this site to the extent that we do not allow blatant posting of certain language. However we do not edit the forums for such things as a$$. As long as our members utilize their placements of #%^( etc...we shall not edit such. Doing such has a different reflection than not doing it. We all know what is inferred when such is done, but don't have to "look" at it's full context. How far should we go when editing language use anyhow ? Most of us are adults and should be able to "control" ourselves and utilize such venue when posting. Remember, we do have given rights in speech, but as a courtesy we should take note of how we portray such though in the forums. Afterall, these are public forums ya know.

Now for my opinion on this matter... I am torn between gun use and one's ability to carry. BUT I understand in reality of today it is usually the BG's who carry and people have the right to protect themselves. As long as the use and carrying of a weapon is done responsibly..why shouldn't it be allowed. As for this case scenario portrayed here....more power to that father! As a parent myself, my kids come first in my life and I would go to the ends of the earth for them and their safety ! When someone crosses the threshold like the Bg's did here and meant harm to another by doing what they did. They then became the endangering factor in self preservation. Which = eradication of that threat by any means. That father did what any parent would have , or the majority anyway. When a person crosses that threshold into the "criminal" aspect, they have taken their level of rights down, in such cases.
I suppose that some people "feel" the criminal here had rights violated, I don't. When it comes down to right and wrong....right needs to prevail at any cost. If not, where would we all be now?
In this case...dead.
I have worked in ems in inner city. I saw things like this everday..actually the after effects. 99.9999999999999999% of gun shot wounds , death etc....were the result of the bg having been armed and not the victims. I stopped working ems the nite i answered a call with a 16 year old youth down with 1 solitary bullet lodged in his brain. the bullet got there in a situation where a "thug" used a weapon to "empower" himself over others. His mother was 10' away when it happened and could do nothing for her son to prevent what ultimately became the cause of his death. Had she had a gun..things may have turned out differently and she would have had every right to use that gun to the best of her abilities to save her son's life. He was her only child..I don't know what was worse to deal with , the child's death or the mother who lost a son due to a thug with a gun. I stopped working ems due to that call.
So who's rights are we actually trying to protect here??
