The only problem with decoration in a hog nosed tank, is they like to burrow, so anything you put in there, you should make sure it doesnt fall under burrowing and squish the snake.
I have a desert vivarium set up for my Bearded Dragon, on one side, I have a heat lamp, and a rock propped up against the side, so he can climb up and bask closer to the lamp. I have a small aloe vera plant in there, as I didnt want to use a cactus. Unfortunately, the plant looks like crap, cause he's chewed on it LOL, which you wont have with the snake.
