Green? or sort of a fungussy brownish greenish looking color?
Without seeing it, its hard to say..I am tempted to say it could be scale rot.
If the snake is on carpet, that is a likely culprit..the snake poops, you clean with bleach, no amount of bleach will get rid of the urate dust and the combination of heat and humidity is a prime breeding ground for bacteria..
However scale rot can occur under many conditions...
IF it is in fact scale rot, remove the substrate, and treat the snake with neosporin (w/o Lidocaine) or other triple antibiotic 2ce a day.. The problem with scale rot is it could be indicative with an overall infection.

I hope that helps, and if it is scale rot, I might have the vet look it over to make sure it doesnt have something else going on.
