hmm, here's what's in mine
Stethoscope
Couple of small hemostats and tweezers/forceps
Scissors of various types
Speculums
Cottonballs and Qtips
Surigical gloves
Suture kits of various gauges
Lidocaine
Baytril
Large box of 1cc syringes
A dozen or so 3cc syringes
Superglue
Probe set (Not really firstaid but there's one in there)
Betadine and betadine prepackaged scrub pads
Nolvasan (Chlorhexadine)
Silvadene (silver sulfadiazine)
B12 injectible
B12 gelcaps
Scapels and blades
Catheter tubing
Catheter/irrigation syringes
Tongue depressers (snap them in half lengthways and they work great for debriding mouth sores)
VERY IMPORTANT!!! If you have any medications like baytril or amikacin ...YOU MUST have a digital scale or some other extremely accurate weight measuring device. Guessing at weight is bad.
I also keep a calculator in it so I don't have to trust my math skills when figuring dosages.
When I'm out herping...my People first aid kit is much more complex with all the bandaging and tape, epi pens etc..and sometimes it gets tapped into too...Like when we bandaged up BW's smashed snapping turtle at the gopher tortoise survey last year lol
