Hi tuftxn. I wanted to address your idea that Hog's are vicious... they are not. I find them to be the opposite. The babies that I have produced are all sweeties, one or two hiss quite often, but are super docile as soon as I pick them up. I approach them when open mouth hissing using my bare hand and slowly scoop them up. Never been bitten (by these guys) yet (A BIG "knock on wood" here!) The other BCI's (non hog) don't get approached when hissing. I know they mean business, haha!
My adult male couldn't care less if you were moving around. My female targets any movement and just watches. Her eyes (or her reflex to movement) are/is phenominal. My female has only struck at me twice, both times after taking her picture with a flash. I guess she sdoesnn't like that very much But they are both very tame, and a joy (sometimes a handful!)
And I do agree with RatSickle, if you have the space, get a hog. They are fantastic animals!
