Tupinambis teguixin covers at least 2 types of Colombian native tegus. Black and white (not to be confused with Argentines Tupinambis merianae ) and Gold Tegus previously called T. nigropunctatus but now lumped with the others as a color variation. This looks more like a Gold to me as the black and whites there tend to have a deeper black background. I think they too range into Argentina but there is a distinct difference in merianae and teguixin.
