How In The Heck Do you Switch From Live to F/T or P/K

B/c my snake just won't do it.

i have to feed him a live pinkie to get his feeding sesion started then he'll eat 3 large mice and i know all too well what live can do to a snake ::shivers:: .... how can i ween him from pinkies??? i need to get him on small rats too .....
