I find it hard to believe that anyone with a child or children could possibly not understand fighting to the death for your kid. Who wants to raise a child from birth, put em through school, teach em right from wrong, Love them and have them love you back and then just sit and watch them be wasted because some punk thinks a few bucks in his pocket is worth taking a life or atleast holding a life or two in his hands to insure he gets his few bucks when you had the means to stop it. What kind of world would this be if the good people were not willing to protect their own lives or the lives of the ones they love? Anarchy, however romanticized by thoughtless punks with no foresight would pretty much put the human race to a very painful, grizzly extinction. As sad as this may seem to some, in the long run, actions like this may save countless lives in the future. It adds to the growing list of "Good Guys Win" and might make someone think twice before attempting such a crime. Also keep in mind, both men were armed. It was a fair fight except the robber had the unfair advantage of premeditation and surprise. How much time do you think an innocent but legally armed person should take to pshycho-analyze an armed thug in a ski mask before pulling his/her own trigger in self defense? Think about this one long and hard....that's a leisure that this boy's dad did not have.
Amerika...You cannot compare breaking into a building at night when noone is there, or shoplifting or whatever it is you were doing to armed robbery. I am pretty sure that the boy's father didn't rush in to save Blockbusters money or video tapes. He went in to protect his son. He just as easily could have been killed in doing so....but risked his own life without hesitation to save that of his son just like any other good parent in the same situation would have done. If you can't understand that....then you don't need to have kids.
