There are circumstances under which it would be benificial to the gecko"s health to alter it's sleep period. A breeder importing wid caught specimens (or even CB stock from Europe) would be introducing animals who's natural cycle would be displaced by 10 - 12 hours. It would be helpful to have a safe, gradual method of acclimating to animal to it's new environment. In addition, it is essential that a pet's owner be able to observe the animal's behaviour in order to notice any injuries or possible illnesses. This is not simply a trivial inquiry designed for the benefit of the pet owner. I would not involve myself with any thing as inconsequential as that.
