You dont say what type of monitor you want, but if you are looking to house something over 4ft then I would suggest a shed or greenhouse. My breeding room is full of 10'x6' greenhouses for my roughnecks and indicus complex monitors. It also contains a 16' x 10' shed which used to house a rhino iguana ( he has since died of old age after coming to me a few years ago when his owner decided to use him as a football and than let an alsation "play" with him)
I get a lot of strange looks from the home improvement store personnel when they deliver the sheds and I point them in the direction of my breeding room and tell them to set it up indoors. But honestly they are durable and sturdy and when lined with insulation and FRP they hold heat well and are easy to clean. One of the big advantages of sheds in particular is that as the floor is slightly raised you can easily set up a drainage system. Also because both sheds and greenhouses only have a single door for access you dont run into the stability problems you get when trying to install 10' of sliding glass doors ( I was actually stupid enough to try this when I first started out with monitors, luckily I realised my mistake long before my varanids saw the cage)
Finally sheds and greenhouses are much cheaper than purpose built cages of a comparable size.
Good luck if you decide to get one
