I just finidhed making some changes to the cage. Here's a new pic

The entire front is new. One of the old ones broke because the latches we used but too much stress on the wood and snapped the hinges right out. So we built new fronts, added the plexi instead of screen, and went to all barrel locks plus the one key latch to keep the child out. Also a new addition, I don't know if you can see it but we put "hook and eye" latches on it to hold to doors up while we are messing around inside. Used to just use a prop but while cleaning the cage we'd bump it and CRASH right on the head. Ouch. Now there is a set of hooks on the bottom of the bottom door which hook into eyes on the top part of the top door. Those eyes get hooked by hooks that are on top of the cage. Pretty neat huh? It was a fluke but it's still really cool. Also, both cages are finally on a thermostat. I'm so excited that it finally looks and acts good!!!
Anyway the problem here is still a humidity issue. I thought that the plexi front instead of screen would hold the humdidity in better, and it does but instead of holding it at acceptable levels for 20 minutes it now holds for like two hours or so. I'm not sure on the exact time because I'm never around and not busy long enough to keep close tabs on it. Still, I don't have time to mist the thing twelve times a day. Help please. Thanks.
