There are several things you need to consider first. A Boa is an animal that will live for a long time under proper care (up to 30 years) so if you are the kind of person who has a hard time with commitment (do I wear the Black socks or the blue ones?) a boa might not be for you. Also, that cute little palm sized baby that you held at the last show will not stay that way for long. They can get up to 7-12 feet long and weigh quite a lot too. There is also some financial consideration. A 7' snake needs a BIG enclosure. I keep mine in a 5' X 3' X 3' cage and I am forever thinking that I want a bigger one. They will also eat you out of house and home. Large rats galore! If you do decide to get a boa, do your research first and talk to people here and on places like on the Boa Forum. Good Luck!
