The reason for the wait is that the tank isnt established yet. It hasnt even gone through a cycle. If smash was to add more fish right now theres a good chance it would be wasted money. Once the tank is established and has gone through a cycle then adding more fish every other week or even weekly wouldnt cause the tank to go into a mini-cycle.
You should quarantine new fish for at least a month before adding them to a existing tank. Realistically this doesnt happen until you have alot of money wrapped up in fish.
The only time fish and species matter when putting them into a tank is when they are large fish. Large fish produce alot of waste ... therefore you should only add 1-2 large fish at a time.
The tank i took down had F0 A. Maisoni, F3000 yellow labs, and F3 C. Mloto. It was an african tank.
