Well, as long as the food was feed well and properly when it was living it may not be needed.
Now if you have a sick snake, monitor etc, it may be an easier way to get vitamins and such in the animal with less stress than a force or a tube.

I am also curious as to what the ingredients are as well as if there is a site for it.
