They do make very good pets...I have not had a single problem with mine and the snakes. And I have 8 ferrets...it is like a small herd when they are all loose. As long as you don't mind things going missing. They are very good at hiding stuff!
Like just-me said as long as you keep up on the litter there is not really a smell...
(side note I still have three that are looking for an adoptive home. I took them in with the intention of adopting them out..I just don't need 8! That is too many for one house..lol)
