It looks like the mouse is about the right size for him.
Since you are swapping to rats any ways, go ahead and get them, and have one mouse ready to scent the rat just in case he doesn't immediately take it.
You can leave the mouse frozen for this.
Any ways, on the feeding, just go by the girth rule with the food size, (food items should be about as big around as the snakes biggest point.) and feed him on a 7 day schedule for a while, with every 3 - 4 feedings give him a little extra on that feed day.
Usually two slightly smaller than normal food items will work great for this.
Once he gets about 5 feet long, change up to about every 9 - 10 days between feedings
He will get there quickly also.
