I know something like this was asked before, but it's been a while. Here's the situation: we're hanging onto two babies, one male and one female. We plan to house them together until they are around 18 months - 2 years. We don't want to keep them together longer than that, though, since I'd rather be able to control if and when the snakes breed -- and in the event, I'll probably want to breed unrelated snakes anyhow -- and besides the male would be likely to want to breed the female before it would safe for her, right? So I'm wondering - could I at that point introduce the male, who will be nearing adult size, to a large cage with his father? Right now his father is pretty small for a 9 year old, about six feet. Those who know anything about this, what are your thoughts? If it sounds necessary, I can make caging for each snake separately, with the same 4x2 footprint, since we have something like a tower of stacked cages going here. If the two males share a multilevel cage, though, with around 14 square feet of floor space, they would each have more room to roam than in their own individual box. Basically, my question is are they likely to fight? And does it depend on the pair, or do 2 male bci always fight?
