this one fish shop by my friend's house used to try to keep an octopus they had gotten from a very agitated customer.
they set it up in a custom 800 gallon and the thing was true to all the stories you hear about them. it NEVER wanted to stay in it's tank. they even tried giving it all kinds of stuff to keep the thing occupied or whatever but to no avail.
i think i remember hearing about them shipping it off to a state aquarium somewhere...but who knows.
