a friend of ours who owns the local pet store, and i use friend losely how he keeps his reptiles has always been a heated debate between use. well, i went there to pick up a 40 galloon breeder tank that i had ordered. and noticed this little ball pyhton probably about 4 months old. she was in dirty enclosure. and i meen dirty the substrate was so filthy you couldnt hardly tell what it was. so as always i debated this subject with him for the 1000 time. so sfter a while he confessed that she had not been eating very well. well, i would say not having to live in there. so after much discuassion i finnly got him to clean the cage and replace the subsrate, give a bowl of water for soaking and one for drinking. and i myself put in a temp strip. which was all he had in the store. and the other day he said that he was picking up 2 more..... omg, i about came unglued. so the wife is trying to arrange a deal for us to take care of his reptiles... cage cleaning etc.... i just can not believe the way people believe that a reptile should be cared for. so need less to say in my frustration, i copied the kansas law involving proper care of reptiles in pet stores and carried it down to him. so hopefully next time he calls me we dont have to have this discussion again.
