Welcome to Redtail! I agree with Eddie. Handle often. Since the store had just gotten them in, you obviously couldn't ask them. I'd say give the lil guy about a week to get used to his surroundings and get comfortable in his new home. Then feed him a F/K (fresh killed) or F/T (frozen/thawed) rat pinkie or fuzzy/hopper mouse. Then again, I should have asked, how old is he? The above is for a 2-3 month old.
If he's acclimatizing, he may not eat anyway. If you see him cruising the cage, that's usually a sign that he's hungry.
