Rhacodactylus leachianus henkeli , new calendonian giant gecko, "island e" morph, closely related to crested geckos and gargoyle geckos [R. ciliatus and R. auriculatus] all of which are a part of the Rhacodactylus family, only found in that small area in the world. They are one of the largest species of geckos in the world, getting to be at least 8-10 inches snout-to-vent.
New Calendonia is a group of islands northeast of australia, consisting of a "main" island [leachies from this island are called grande terre leachies], and then a bunch of surrounding islands, Leachies are found on almost all of them, except a few, and each island morph has its own distinct characteristics [sp?]. nu ana is an island morph, nu ami is another one. Island E's are known for their bright/lime green coloring with whitish/pink blotches. Island morphs [R. leachianus henkeli] tend to be smaller in size, and have smaller tails then mainland leachies.
There are also 3 other species of Rhacodactylus. R. chahouas, or the mossy prehensile tailed geckos, R. sarasinorum, the slender prehensile tailed gecko, and R. trachyrhynchus "the rough snouted gecko" which are by far the coolest, they give LIVE birth once a year, to one male and one female.
