wow that looks the kinda place that wouldnt have that much humidity to begin with! can you leave a larger opening or allow more air in from the top? I presume it has a screen top. or if theres just the screen in place and the humidity is from the room you could get a de-humidifier for the room. does he/she have a large water bowl? maybe a smaller one would help! other than that I have no more ideas sorry!
