Yes, a 4x2x1 would hold a Max of an 8ft boa. Height isnt important b/c boas are ground dwelling critters.
The most important thing is floor space.
That funny thing is, you picture it in your head, but once its built and you see your critter in it, you being to see just how much room is actually in there.
