I know what your going through with your ball----and the last thing you need is another lecture but it's not IF the rodent will hurt your snake/lizard---but when.
It's a matter of time...kinda like drunk driving.
With the ball we have all been there so relax. It's better to have a ball that's off feed then a ball with a chuck missing from his head...or worse.
I had a hognose that drove me nuts too---now he eats like a champ---don't give up.
