okay from another reply i have covered the lid with plastic and poked holes in it, the humidity is up now, i think what i will have to do is put another heat pas under the tank and put the one i have under it now stuck to the side to keep heat in , before my problem was not enough humidity, now my tank has 57% humidity and 78 degrees on the hot side. i have a hide box for him he is one yrs old and 3 feet long. i soak it in a rubbermaid container in warm water , now my problem is How to remove the small piece of skin left on its eye and on the vent , this is so frustrating to me because i just want it to be happy and love me but Grr if its not one thing its another. i hope it gets easier when he is bigger when i can get him a good decent homemade cage, and keep it at the right temp the right humidity.
