screen tops are a pain, daily misting, a couple times a day if they're getting ready to shed is good. I love humid hides and alot of the snakes seem to also. How big is he and what are you trying to soak him in? Give em something to hold on to in the tote you soak him in and use a lid with it (with air holes somewhere). They're gonna try and move, but then if you put em in an empty tote they'd probably try to get away there too. I find they calm down after getting their tail wrapped around something. That's what I do so that's my suggestion, I'm sure others will have other ideas. good luck
