You know, the first time I heard of a reptile show, I was thinking in terms of dog and livestock shows. Animals being judged by confirmation and color, etc. Judges handing out ribbons and trophies. hehehe, Just think, you could have a Champion of Record snake just like in dogs. lol I can see it now, CH Murray McNippy or something lmao. I still think that would be fun. But who would write the breed standards? Shouldn't be too hard, for example
Burmese Python:
30 pts for color
- should be dark, deep, and clearly defined from other patches of lighter color. Unless animal is one of the other accepted colors (albino, patternless, etc. Please see descriptions below)
30 pts for confirmation
- (hmm, tough one) should be long, somewhat cylindrical, well muscled, with no signs of kinks or depressions.
20 pts for head
- should be clearly defined with distinct markings over eyes that make a 'V' shape beginning at the nose. Nostrils and pits should be clean and free of any discharge. Eyes should be bright and clear (unless in first phase of shed wherein a cloudy eye is to be expected).
20 pts for temperament
- animal should be tractable and showing little signs of stress. Any display of aggression toward humans will disqualify the animal.

AOAC (any other accepted color)(and yes, that is a doggie term)

Albino: should show good clean definition separating yellow, white and orange markings. White underbelly

Patternless (green): nice uniforn silver green coloring with lighter colored belly. Young animals will not be discriminated against for showing some light tan spotting.

Labrynth: animal should display elongated markings with distinct color differences. Head markings are generally the same as normals.

Albino patternless: should display rich uniform yellow color with lighter underbelly.
Albino labrynth: shows marked elongated patching of yellow orange and white with head markings matching those of the normal albinos. Juveniles will not be penalized for showing some orange or darker yellow spotting.

Luecistic: uniform bright white coloring with blue or black eyes. Some pink admissible on juveniles.

Points will be deducted for scarring caused by burns, nose rub, prey injuries, etc. Also missing tail tips and signs of patchy shed.

Disqualifications:
Aggressiveness towards humans, aggression toward other snakes admissible.
Missing or deformed eyes.
Kinks located anywhere on the body and/or tail
any sort of RI and/or parasites or other illness.

hehehe, is this the sign of a sick mind or what?
