I would take a screen shot of the USPS site saying that there is no record of the tracking number. And, scan in any documentation you can get from the USPS as to the non existance of the tracking number. If Paypal gets the inclination that they only gave you that number to get them off their back/ and keep their money, then they will refund yours, and charge them for it. My wife is a hard core ebayer, and is dealt with paypal for years, and any time there has been a problem with a seller, they have always good about refunding to the seller first, then sorting it out later. They have always been first to take up for the buyer. If need be, call them up and speak to someone, explain the situation, and provide any documentation you can to prove the tracking number they gave is bogus.
