I am really stubborn about running to a doc's office. My dad has had countless pointless experiences with them throughout his life, some recent. i understand how usefull and helpful they are, and a lot of them are probably as honest and kind as one I recently found (unfortunately he specalized and is not a general doctor) but, I still hold off. I usually don't stay sick for more than 3 days- first day feeling crappy, next horrible, and then crappy agian before it just goes away. Any more than the usual and I consider a doctor. Here's a "waitress story": the last time I was sick it felt like pluracy-sp, that real bad pain in your chest. On the second day I decided to be a good employee, take some dayquill, and stick out my shift. I figured it wouldn't be too big of a problem to have me inside the restaurant. No, I was sectioned on our deck, and the whole afternoon and night while running in and out of heat/air conditioning I griped that i didn't need to be doing that, at one point from walking the distance of the deck in the humidity I was panting cause it hurt too bad to breathe normal. At the end of the night, once my medicine wore off completely and the full effect of what I had done to myself hit me, I was cashing out and another waitress told me I looked green. The manager looks at me and asks, "Are you sick or something?" To which I reply, "No Dave, I've been griping about every OTHER thing since I got here and seen that my section was outside." He just shrugs and says, "Well, everyone gripes." Needless to say that time it took me four days to get better cause the next day thanks to them I felt more horrible than on my "horrible" day. This cold was just wierd cause it went through a variety of symptoms. The body ache-stomach sickness disappeared and now I'm left with with the sinus infection feeling. It should be going away by tomarrow. Good luck staying healthy through the holidays you guys!
