I've reused the moss. I buy a decent size bag and then use about two handfuls in the container. Then after he's used it for a bit I take it out, spray in a strainer and stick it in a bag in the freezer to kill anything and then use it again later. ... mine uses his moss box like a litter box
so I end up throwing the moss out twice a week and sanitizing the box in the dishwasher! maybe thats over kill
