i second the cypress mulch.. we had no problems with shedding with any of our snakes and our baby cali king is goin in blue (i think, but her eyes are blue to begin with..lol)cypress soaks up moisture and retains it great along with the heat. we just spray the cages down once a night to help promote the levels of humidity they need when they're in shed mode.

another great idea is to get a plant sprayer.. we got one from walmart for like $14. and its 20x better than the conventional spray bottle. just gotta make sure its cleaned with anti bacterial soap n all before using it. =D
