Steve Irwin on Jay Leno last night
Did anyone see this show last night? I know we aren't big fans of Steve Irwin, due to his handling practices. But, I enjoy watching just for the herps. He had a "family" of amelanistic rattlers, probably diamondbacks? Anyway, I wonder if he heard enough complaints about his carelessness when handling hots, becuase he was actually using snake hooks for once. My only complaint would be that he took out ALL 4 rattlers at once, two adults and two babies. That's a whole 'nother kind of no-no right there, I would think. I mean, he was literally running in circles around them to keep one from going in the audience and keeping the others from getting to Jay and Tim Allen. Distraction with hots is never a good thing. It's one thing when you're dealing with numerous hots together, such as finding several under a piece of tin, or picking out certain snakes to rescue at a rattler roundup. But don't intentionally endanger yourself and others by bringing them all out at once. Even with the hooks, he also used his hands quite a bit. But at least he was using hooks. Something is always better than nothing.
