Well I have a 12 year old 13ft. male albino burmese that is still kicking along just fine. He weighs about 100lbs. and has had a wonderful life and will probably make it to 20 years old. He is my buddy and tamer than my dogs. I don't breed him even though I have had many people ask to breed him to their females. Mostly that is due to my being to protective of him and not trusting anyone with the care of my snake.
But my point is that there are many morphs that are fine and have no problems.
I will agree that there is some major genetic defect in the green burms though. I have noticed around other forums that they are dropping like flies and even have a friend who's 12ft. 3 year old female died without any warning or aparant cause. It was a shame too since she was a wonderful snake with a great personality.
