I got back a couple hours ago from picking up a couple of BCI rescues/adoptions. I had actually adopted a female 8' BCI and the owner also had told me about another bci she has , a male that has health problem going on. We just hadn't linked up till now for me to get the female from her. That was a month ago actually when i first spoke with her. She had just taken the male to a vet Whom stated that he has experience with exotics such as snakes. YEAH RIGHT! about 3 weeks prior to that time. The snake had mouthrot/stomatitis and an RI and hadn't eaten in like 2 months time at that point. The vet cleaned the mouth and gave anitbiotics..OH YEAH he also gave her a nice $175 vet bill also. He never told her to clean the snake's mouth from the mouthrot at all. When I talked to her she was telling me how bad the snake was doing and she didn't think he would even last the nite. I went over with her on what the vet had not told her in regards to cleaning the snake's mouth out daily .
I received an email from her last friday in regards to picking up the female this week. Then today i received an email asking if I could also take the male , now in worse condition but still hanging in there.
I went to pick em up tonite.. The female is perfect the male on the other hand... OMG !
He has definate stomatitis/mouthrot, severely underweight and also severely dehydrated, dysecdysis, retained eye caps top go with it too, non feeding for 3 months now, blocked nostrils , think that's it UGH. On the upside though he is not lethargic at all and is even realy spunky for a snake in his shape. He also does not have any signs of any type of neuro problems or mites either. he's a sweetheart also. Has not complained at all with what I have already done with him at this point even.
My reptile vet is on vaca atm arghh.. I will definately be looking around for a vet that knows snakes to take him to asap as I do know I will need meds for him [ more than i got on hand anyway]
these are some pics of him... His name is JAKE...

The rest of the pics are here .
